Glass slippers are notoriously inflexible or so the eponymous prince of the story discovered whilst trying to find the correct foot.
Like a glass ceiling, a glass slipper is see through which makes matters worse as there is nothing quite as frustrating as being able to see through a problem but not find a solution.
Of course, the prince had unlimited time and a racing heart to push him on in his search to match slipper to foot, most of us are not so fortunate and I suspect often say “That will do” when what we really mean is, “Is there no solution to this problem?”
